The most powerful reminder about those early years is: "These moments only happen once; savor them." In the midst of long days and sleepless nights, it’s all too easy to overlook just how fleeting this time is. Before you know it, your little ones will have grown, and those precious memories can feel like they slipped right through your fingers.
If you’re looking for a photographer who can beautifully capture the little details, the genuine smiles, and the unique connections that define your journey, look no further!
I strive to document your family’s story in a way that you can cherish for years to come, preserving the magic of these precious moments so you can savor them for a lifetime. Let’s create lasting memories together!
Whether you're capturing your annual portraits or gathering the whole family for a once-in-a-lifetime session, I’m here to help every step of the way. Each session is an opportunity to create lasting memories that you’ll cherish for years to come. Let’s work together to ensure that every detail is beautifully documented, reflecting the love and connection within your family
FAMILY SESSIONS
Lifestyle newborn sessions beautifully capture those precious early days. These sessions focus on documenting the little details—the tiny fingers, sleepy smiles, and the warmth of family connections. It’s a celebration of endless love, showcasing the bond between you and your newborn as you navigate this new chapter together. Each image tells a story of joy, tenderness, and the unique moments that make your family’s journey so special.
LIFESTYLE NEWBORN SESSIONS
While I enjoy all photography sessions, my favorite ones are motherhood sessions. Motherhood deserves to be celebrated and documented at every stage. These are the years when our little ones grow the fastest, and it’s these moments that you’ll want to cherish forever.

Sessions are scheduled one to two hours before sunset to take advantage of the soft, even lighting. On cloudy or overcast days, we may start earlier, and these adjustments will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you’re concerned about the timing for your little ones, I completely understand! Here are a few suggestions: (1) consider adding an extra nap or adjusting their nap schedule, (2) schedule your session in the spring or fall when the sun sets earlier, or (3) opt for an in-home or in-studio session (additional studio fees apply).
To secure your standalone session, a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer are required. The remaining balance is due by 9 PM the day before our scheduled session.
For Motherhood and Milestone Bundles, a signed contract is also necessary, along with a 20% non-refundable retainer to confirm your sessions. Future payments will be divided evenly across the remaining sessions, and each payment is due by 9 PM the day before our scheduled dates.
I can promise you I've got your covered when it comes to your wild littles ones! We'll get the shot! Even if they can't sit still for five minutes or they only want to be held by mom, we will make it happen. Even if you tell me they are the exception, I promise you, I'm pretty good with kids. Even my toughest little companions have cracked and given me a smile or two.
If the weather is likely to affect our session, I’ll reach out with options. If it’s cloudy and you were hoping for sunny sunset vibes, I’ll offer a reschedule date if my availability allows—though this isn’t always possible. I do plan for rescheduled dates in my calendar, so I appreciate your flexibility, especially during the spring and fall months.
The sweet spot for maternity sessions is typically between 28 and 32 weeks! However, I’ve had many mamas who prefer to schedule their shoots either a bit earlier or later, depending on how their bump is looking and feeling. Each pregnancy is unique, and I’m happy to accommodate your preferences to ensure you feel comfortable and confident during the session. Ultimately, we want to capture that beautiful glow at the perfect time for you!
All of my sessions embrace a relaxed, storytelling vibe, which is why I adore lifestyle newborn sessions. I love capturing the special connection between you and your new baby while incorporating unique elements of your home to make each session truly one-of-a-kind.
I focus on all those precious details—like tiny eyelashes, little feet, and adorable rolls—that you’ll cherish forever. These are the kinds of photos I treasure of my own little ones, and I know you’ll feel the same about yours.
I provide newborn blankets, bows, swaddle wraps, and baskets to use during our session. We’ll work with natural window light to create beautiful images. If you’re concerned about lighting or prefer not to shoot in your home, I can recommend some fantastic studios that are perfect for indoor newborn sessions.
Sessions typically take about 2-3 weeks to complete. However, during busier months like fall, this may extend to around 3-4 weeks.
Certain galleries, such as newborn or extended family sessions, might take a bit longer. If I anticipate needing extra time, I’ll be sure to keep you updated throughout the process.
Yes, I offer a few mini sessions throughout the year, especially around Christmas, typically one per season. To stay in the loop about when these mini sessions become available, be sure to sign up for my email newsletter!
While I enjoy mini sessions, I often hear parents say, "My kid(s) can only handle a short session." However, I’ve found that children really thrive in longer storytelling sessions. Having the time to explore, connect with their environment, and get comfortable with the photographer can make a significant difference. Often, by the end of a mini session, my younger clients are just starting to open up and reveal their true personalities.
I love offering my clients a complete experience—getting to know your family, understanding what works best for your kid(s), and capturing a gallery filled with all those sweet little details!

Shelby has been our photographer for several years and every photo shoot is super fun, quick, and she captures all the good stuff which can be a challenge with a very active 5 year old!. Exceeds expectations!
Jana
Shelby exceeded our expectations. She was great and easy to work with. She did everything in her power to make our photoshoot perfect. We have received nothing but compliments on our photos and how great out photographer was. We agree! We look forward to working with Shelby for years to come.
Chelsea
Shelby was absolutely incredible to work with. . She consistently makes us feel comfortable and makes sure that we don’t miss meaningful opportunities to just be together. Her photos look so authentically happy because she made the session that way. We got a variety of photos despite having a toddler and a dog who didn’t always want to cooperate. Also, as a mother, I feel as if I am constantly attending to everyone’s needs (fixing someone’s hair, etc). Shelby made sure that I never had to do it, and also took care of ME. It’s very apparent that Shelby loves what she does and that she will put in way more effort than you would ever expect. You will not be disappointed!

The energy and fun that Shelby brought to our mini session was contagious. She captured the personalities of my entire family beautifully! Our pictures turned out amazing and I will definitely recommend Cedar and Lace!
